Lisy's Thoughts on Disability in Film & TV

Was surprisingly engaging. Usually documentaries about disabled people are just Pity Porn, but this was far more about the storms than the skin. At the beginning when we get introduced to Sam it’s all about her impairment and little about her as a character; but once the trip is under way - aside from the odd reference to changing dressings - the tornadoes are the focus of the trip.

It was nice to watch a documentary with a disabled person in that didn’t leave me feeling emotionally blackmailed into feeling sorry for the subject.
